Natalie

Natalie asleep with pup pup on her head, her lamb in one ARM, and her daddy bear in the other. Too sweet.

Body By Vi Challenge & more Project 365

I must really love my kids.  Couple nights ago I made Breakfast for dinner... They said they wanted animal pancakes... >.< Animal pancakes, the bane of my existence... The pancakes are made in a metal four shape holder... To flip these pancakes, well let's just say its not easy and I have 2 blisters on my thumb to show for it.  But... They were happy, and that's what counts right?

Last night, I was putting the kids in bed when I realized I hadn't taken my pictures for the day... So here they are with their Daddy Bear's that we got for them before Alan deployed.  They each have to have their bear before they can go to bed... Well Scarlett's is a cat, but either way.  She named the cat Whiskey Whiskers... Well last night it was missing, and while I was looking for it, she was calling from her bedroom, " I was WHISKEY!!!!"  ... she wanted whiskey, whiskey whiskers that is... ... So glad no one else heard this...

Moving on to my Body By Vi journey.... I started the shakes on January 5th.  Then started doing p90x workouts on the 9th.  I've been feeling great, have had more energy, and have lost 5 inches!  5 inches!! as of the 11th... Not even one week into the shakes and I have lost 3 pounds and 5 inches.  Needless to say, I highly support the use of this product... The shakes taste amazing and give me energy, I don't know why someone wouldn't do it!  I have 2 shakes a day and eat whatever I want for dinner.  Anytime I'm hungry, I grab a healthy snack.  I've also been tracking my calories on my phone through My Fitness Pal , this has really helped in keeping me eating all the calories I need to keep my body going and loosing weight.  Here are my before pictures, yeah I know, not pretty, but whose are?  Can't wait to post more updates!

After seeing the weight on the scale, and the inches lost, I am really considering promoting Body By Vi.  I really want to help other people learn about it, and loose weight like I have.  My sister recently started doing the shakes too and has lost 2 pounds in less than a week.  I am really proud of her...

Project 365 Post 2

Day 7- My Parents received a letter in the mail, from the city, explaining to them that they had 15 days to do "lawn maintenance" and remove dead plants or else they were going to be fined.  I believe that this is a result of the recent wildfires all throughout Texas.  So Saturday, we went over and helped.  Natalie and Brayden had a good time playing and swinging.

Day 8- I had almost forgotten that I needed to take a picture... Luckily, I had put the kids to bed and just got done with my nightly routine... walked out of the bathroom and this is what I saw at my desk... Brayden sitting and playing on the computer thinking he knew what he was doing.  Too funny.  I had to laugh instead of yell, then put him back in bed :)

Day 9- Went for a walk to the mail box with the kids.  I was very excited to find a letter from Alan.  It took a while to get here, hoping not everything takes this long to get here.  Letter's from Alan make my day...

Day 10- Okay, I suck.  No picture taking on this day... I completely forgot... Although I would like to add that I started P90x.  Did Ploymetrics, it kicked my butt.

Day 11- Decided to walk Scarlett to school, which really is nothing new, but since it rained 2 days ago, and I left the stroller out... The stroller was wet, so I had the little ones walk... It was an adventure.  I'm loving the weather though.  Did P90x again today, Shoulders and arms.  Go me...

Project 365

So you might be wondering, "Why is this crazy lady posting a picture of her sink??"
I am starting Project 365.  The goal is to take a picture every day for 365 days.  I'm doing this so my husband can keep up with what me and the kids are doing while he is away.
The sink, is the picture from my first day.  Jan 1st, the day I committed to doing baby steps from FlyLady. (http://www.flylady.net ) Day one is to shine your sink.  Isn't it pretty?  I also went to Cracker Barrel with my Mother In Law for our traditional black eyed peas and turnip greens.  Black eyed peas for luck, and turnip greens for prosperity.  Hope it works this year... I need all the luck I can get.

Monday, the 2nd, Was Scarlett's first day back at school.  If I were a good Mom, I would have taken a picture of Scarlett at school... But I forgot... So here's the other thing I spent all day working on.  I decided that I was going to make a bunch of healthy freezer meals, that way I would have no excuse to eat out for dinner... So here they are, 20 healthy, crock pot, freezer meals :)  *Don't worry, I promise the pictures will get better.*

3rd day - Okay I really suck at this whole Project 365... The picture isn't from the 3rd, but its about what I did on the 3rd so just deal with it, okay?  Thanks.  January 3rd is my Dad's birthday, he turned 59, Happy Birthday Dad!  Spent the day running around doing errands, then went to dinner at my sisters and had cake and ice cream after :)  So there, see, the picture has my Dad in it.

Day 4.  I mailed off the caramels that I made for my Husband and his roommates in Afghanistan... Ever since I mailed them the first batch of caramels, I've regretted it, It's all I have heard about since, So there I was, with two sleeping children, at the post office cursing him... But I got them mailed off, so it's all better.  *whew*

Day 5- On the first I went shopping with my Mother-in-law and saw these boots for Natalie at Sears.  For some reason though, there was only one boot her size, so I ordered them, and they finally got here on the 5th.  Natalie loves them, here she is showing them off :)  On another note, I also got my Body by Vi shakes in too!  I was very upset that they didn't get there early enough for me to have them for lunch... I almost decided to have one for desert... Yes they are that good.

And here we are at Day 6 -  The Shake Mix that tastes like Cake mix mmmm... I had my Body by Vi Shake this morning, mmmm... And then I proceeded to try and get my Son to take a picture of me for my before picture for the 90 day challenge... It didn't turn out so well, but I got a cute picture of him posing :)

So there we have it, 6 pictures for 6 days for Project 365.  Hopefully the pictures get better as we go along.

What I am Thankful For

I am thankful for my Husband and everything he does for our little family. This morning he left to deploy to Afghanistan.  I have never been so proud to call him my husband.  Although I miss him already, I know he is doing what he is supposed to be doing.  I feel like a piece of me is missing with him being gone.  I miss my best-friend.  I wish that I had someone to talk to about these feelings, someone to hang out with, and to help me get through these next 400 days with out him.
I am also grateful for modern technology, and the ability to Skype him even though he is going a world away.  Just 6 or 7 years ago, Skype wasn't around, and there wasn't a way to talk to your loved ones when they were over seas.
I am grateful for my family.  Everyone in my family, but especially, My sister, Rachel, moved in with me to be with me while Alan is gone.  Without her I am not sure I could get through this tough time.
I am grateful for all of the men and women who are serving with my Husband and watching his back and being with him while I am not able to be.
I am grateful for many other things, but these are the ones that are on my mind at the moment.  I hope my Husband knows how much I love him and how much he means to me.  I also want him to know how proud we are of him.  Alan, we love you.

Sweet Berry Farm

Saturday, we were able to go to Sweet Berry Farm with my niece Cassie who went with her Girl Scout Troop. We had a lot of fun going through the Corn Maze and riding on the Scarecrow Hay Ride they have there. Alan was able to go with us and it made it that much more special since this was our last Saturday with him before he leaves for his Mob Station. The kids got to feed the goats and pet the ponies! It really was a special trip.
